INTERPRETATION
We give voice to your words, to communicate across every language
Interpretation
We provide you with highly experienced professionals for simultaneous, consecutive, chuchotage (whispered) and liaison interpretation. The service can be provided either in person or remotely, for all your events, whether conferences, meetings, workshops or press conferences.
Our interpreters
Our interpreters are all accredited members of professional bodies and associations and have a solid track record of experience.
We select them on the basis of the following criteria:
- Language studies undertaken
- Documented experience
- Participation in training events and courses for continuous updating of their skills in their areas of specialization
- Membership of professional associations with a clear and explicit code of conduct
We certify our interpreters on the basis of their active/passive language combinations, the interpretation services provided and their fields of specialization
Our technology
Our interpreters use Computer Assisted Interpreting software (CAI) to prepare and perform the service.
The software enables you to index event documents and extract terminology from them to create a glossary. They also include functions for recording and transcribing contributions, if required.
We use Virtual Interpreting Technology (VIT) for remote interpretation and we can offer you the configuration and platforms that best suit your needs.
For in-person interpretation, we can provide you with the technical equipment necessary, such as soundproof cabins or portable interpreting devices, which are ideal for groups of people who have to move around.
Consecutive, liaison and chuchotage (whispered) interpretation
Consecutive, liaison and chuchotage (whispered) interpretation do not require any technical equipment and involve just one interpreter.
For consecutive interpretation, the interpreter takes note of what the speaker is saying, and translates it during the pauses that the speaker leaves at regular intervals.
Chuchotage (whispered) interpretation is when the interpreter sits next to you and ‘whispers’ the translation. Normally used when there is only one person involved.
Liaison interpretation is suitable for small groups of people using a single pair of languages or in more informal contexts.
Simultaneous interpretation
Where interlocutors need to be able to understand or be understood immediately, simultaneous interpretation is required. This is suitable for events with a large number of participants and multiple language combinations.
Simultaneous interpretation always involves two interpreters, who alternate with each other.
